Hi

I would like to know if there are any body vin tags on the 07 GP, I don't see any.... and the VIN sticker on the driver side door, has a clear background... by the looks of it looks like someone before the dealer had it repainted the car... I thiink I got screwed over big time, bought from a dealer too

Both front fenders look like this, should there be more information to it? like serial #?

thx

I remember correct that new model got a new vin sticker on the glove box?

I'm not sure about 04+ model. 97-03 model got some vin stickers on door, under front bumper (lower opening near by fog light), sometimes fender (from what I have seen at junk yard), under trunk lid and windshield on lower driver side.

Also I wash/wax my dad's 2006 Pontiac G6 last weekend. It got a vin sticker behind plate on the rear bumper. Not sure about 04+ have that.

the 97-03 uses stickers instead of a vin stamp
but really to me the sticker is just something to remove for a clean look

thx guys... so I see no vin stamps on the doors... none on the front fenders...

@Palsut, so no vin tags, or stamps on any other body panel?

@Mater as long as you know they are there.. we;re planning to go back to the dealer, tomorrow to talk.. I doubt anything will come out of it... the salesperson did say it wasn't accidented...

edit - what about any serial numbers on engine cradle?

There is no vin tag on bottom windshield by driver side? It gotta be here because almost all cars have that.

I think I found the engine one in the service manual, not on the car yet, will look tomorrow

Vin is there... on the car... I'm talking about how each door, fender, trunk, has a label, sticker, or stamped VIN, part of VIN or serial to indicate that its an original part..
our 1997 Cutlass Supreme had this... so does some 2006 hondas.. that I know of.

edit- btw when you open the doors and look at the where the top weatherstripping is... there is intended lines.. like paint came off... around the opening of the doors on the body itself....

Gaps, as in between the doors? metal and metal gap, or weatherstripping?

For the metal not really... some joints are closer.... the driver side door alignment is off from the rear driver door.. like where the black lower molding for the window.. now I remember the 97 Cutlass Supreme was like that haha

@z3r0, why are they still shit? not fun

So I need some advice, maybe one day I'll get the front bumper repainted, since there is two coats of paint on it, when I do get it painted, I have to smooth it out.. like which grit sandpaper should I use in stages... also have to remove the lights, and grills and logo to get the clearcoat peeling off..

Also the lower lip, air dam, on the passenger side is cracked... oh ya its the special edition GP, I'm thinking clear RTV, next year to fix it up....

Also today I thought about calling it quits on the car... as in changing it... after some thought I guess we'll hold onto it for now

thx...

i have a perfect car fax
never been hit, nothing bad
but it was hit and a carfax is only good for if it is reported to an insurance company

@Mater, hehe for the Cutlass you're really putting a turbo, or already has one? Which color? The GP replaced our 97 Cutlass Supreme 3100 v6... 4 door, black, I have a DRL module, photolight sensor, and the dash bezel if needed
