I went to pull my winter wheels out of my basement and put them on the car this weeked and noticed the corrosion on them was getting very unsightly. I decided to plasti-dip them to see if I liked the look of black wheels on my car. Here are some pics of the corroded wheels and then a pic of the plasti-dipped wheels on the car.

Thanks for all the comments. This was temporary fix to the corrosion issue to make sure I liked the flat black wheels on the car. I am surprised how well it turned out as I usually am not a fan of black wheels. After the winter is over, the tires will be removed and the wheels powder coated flat black.

I thought about those. Can you buy flat black lug nuts or plastic lug nut covers? I didn't want to paint them because I knew the socket and torque wrench at 100 lb-ft would destroy the paint.

as far as i've seen no flat black lugs, you can paint yours but like u mentioned a trw will tear em up, especially if one of them locks and the guy thinks he can get it off without the specail socket :smacks head: idiots lol, sorry back on topic, paint'em, even if the impact messes em up, you can always touch it up later, and i had good results with the impact at the house, just gotta go easy on it, no nascar shooting the bolts off

I disagree about the black lugs, i say leave the lugs shiny, powdercoat the rims a semi gloss black, and leave a machined/silver lip... it would look tits on a that silver car dude.

I would avoid black and stick w/ chrome unless u get somd that are anodized. Overtime those black lugs will look ugly all scratched up and then they'll rust. Cant go wrong powdercoating flat black but i would do gloss!
