Ok, so it's come to my attention my car's appearance has had a lot of positive and negative feedback in another topic, and to politely draw the wrong attention away from that topic, I made another.

Here are some pics of my car so far.

Click the icons for the full picture

Image Image Image Image Image

Image Image Image Image Image

A few updates on these images and stuff. I have taken off those crappy decal pieces on my fenders. Thought they'd look okay...and was horribly wrong. Also repainted the fenders completely (Have yet to put on the clear coat yet however), and I've repainted the whole entire bumper. As for front bumper though, I plan on getting the VFiber front aftermarket bumper (Click here). NOT THE WHOLE BODY KIT. God I hate the skirts, and the back bumper looks like cheap Chinese plastic. Also intend on getting an aftermarket aluminum spoiler (Click here) and I plan on lowering the spoiler to about 2.5 inches above the car, if it works out okay. If not, maybe a tad higher, but I don't want it obnoxiously high. That bothers the hell out of me. Thinking about even painting it the same color as the car. Still debating. I also want to take the two stripes (Rip off Dodge Charger stripes? lawl) from the side and put them a few inches above the skirts and add "Grand Prix" to them.

So. Thoughts? Opinions?

I will have more pics up soon.

I dont want to come off like a dick, but...here I go, Im honestly not a fan of any of it, the autozone accesories on the trunk are very obvious that thats where theyre from, and the light bar under the headlight bothers me a bit. The single radio in the double spot just sitting there? And that body kit is awful. I really dont like being an A-hole, but I see these kinds of "upgrades" all the time and never say anything. So Im sorry, but to each his own. :)

You're fine. Honest opinions are the best (Said politely). The trunk "GT" letters are temporary replacements for the "GT" stock letters that were there, because they came off when I got the car. Been thinking about stripping all of the crap except the "Limited Edition" plate on the back anyway. As for the body kit, I just want the front bumper. Not the whole kit >:U I actually like the way the front bumper looks, and want to give it a try. If it turns out to be crap, I'll either ship it back or just sell it. As for the light bar under the head light, I plan on having it match the bulbs soon when I get Xenon bulbs. However, that's before I get the aftermarket holo head lights (Black) soon after. And the radio is hanging there because I have yet to get the dash kit >.<

Understandable, but did you think that a front bumper from a body kit would look ridiculous without having the rest of the kit to match? Youre bumper would be close to the ground and the rest would be at stock height. Are you doing any suspension work? Whats limited edition about it? Like I said, I dont want to be an asshole, but being a fraud is worse, if I never got bad review on something I wanted to do, I may have dumb stuff done.

I think the spoiler looks like a want to be Fast & Furious spoiler. The two tone interior looks like it was sprayed in a dust storm with a rattle can. Car basically reminds me of the trials and errors I went through when I was 15/16. Now I take the "less is more" approach. Removed the GM and Grand Prix badging and LIGHTLY tinted the tails. Added HIDs to the headlights/fogs and installed a system

im not trying to be an ass either but i think it would look nice if u just tool all those badges off spend 200 bucks on lowering springs and 4 bucks to get some tire shine on those tires i think it would look better but thats just my opinion

-- Sat Apr 30, 2011 2:55 pm --

that kit is probably gonna be atleast 700 dollars shipped u can spend that in better things for the car
springs 200
smoked tails for maybe 40-50
se lip for like 200-300 bucks?
tire shine 4 bucks ;-)
window tint less than 100 bucks
thats less than that and may look alot better just sayin

I agree with the above as well. Take off the ricey side vents, lose all the badges on the back, don't even think about the ricey bumper or spoiler, and paint your red interior trim black or find those stock pieces. Red doesn't really work well for accents in these cars in my opinion. I like your black wheels and headlights, but i think your heading in the wrong direction as far as a few other things. Also, your tires may just look dirty, but it almost looks like you should be saving money up for new tires instead of other things, they look a little worn and dried out. Yours cars got alot of potential, but you just need a steer in the right direction :P

In addition, fix things that are broken before "fixing up" your car. You can afford 4 cans of paint but not a hood shock?

Raphial everybody has to start somewhere,so just clean or dress things up and fix items, then think about appearance mods for your car..

Look heres my stance if you like it and you want to try man. Go for it its your car your money and im sure some people will actually like it. All be it many of them not on this forum but again its your money. Now i will tell you personally that less does tend to look like more on our cars tinted tails and windows go a long way and would look sick with your wheels. the interior bits im not gona say yay or nay. but if your going to keep em go ahead and pull off that guage cluster hood and paint that to =). I am not very popular on here either at times cause frankly i know alot of people on here think my car has a nose bleed problem because of the red and always be hatein on the gold. but i keep my head high  lol just have fun but i would sudgest just my 2 cents dont do the wing and dont do the front bumper much better of uses for your money there are.

Mabe a Supercharger top swap? thats about 1700 total at the most

heres another wing sudgestion:

Glad you took of the fender accents.
I dont mind the stirpes however your idea of putting them on the bottom and making them say gp sound pretty cool.
I've never seen an aftermarket metal spoiler like that look good on anycar except actual race cars which these are not. However it might actually look good if its really close to the trunk lid.
Also the trunk does look a little cluttered. I'd remove that v6 badge that looks like it says v8 lol.

To each his own, just take the critisisms and try not get mad lol.

Well where to begin.
1) stay away from autozone and stop buying there shit like chrome vents/decals etc.
2) take off the chrger decal and hood vents.
3) You should of left the interior alone instead of painting it and doing a terrible job and red at the wtf
4) get rid of those leds strips
5) debadge every badge on car
Disclaimer: I don't mean to be a dick but come on you've seen our gp on the site and should know what you've done looks so tacky/ricer. Simple is also very clean no need to overdue your car.

Im going to take the more gentle approach here...

There was a time, and still on occasion where I have a relapse and go and buy something off the rack from Canadian Tire or PartsSource (like your Autozone) and stick it on one of my cars... Usually it lasts about a day and comes off... Ie my recent foray into hood stripes...

See the thing is this: GPs are refined but sporty grand touring Pontiacs... The arent Acura RSX's or 350Z's or Honda Preludes (and trust me, I have a lot of respect and admiration for the imprt crowd in the sense that a well modded import looks great too, but just not my thing)... I mean if you want to do that Combat fascia and big wing, you will look like a guy that simply bought the wrong car to suit his modding tastes... Thats why every one here is telling you your going in the wrong direction...

Im going to let you in on my modding philosophy (and this comes from someone thats been modding one Pontiac or another for almost 20 years):

The key to modding GM's (from a visual perspective... not performance) is to do things that make your car subtly different from the rest... so it starts with debadging or re-badging (not with Autozone crap... I mean if your car isnt a Limited Edition, why put that? If its not a V8, why put that?), tinting light bars, blacking out rims if you want, painting calipers, getting an SE or Inferno lip, tinting the windows, get some appropriate decals, get some nice wheels, change out your exhaust tips.... etc etc

One of the biggest compliments I ever got with my Trans Am came one day at a gas station between my town and Niagara Falls from a tourist from the USA... He goes: Mighty nice car you got there... Is that one of those special firebirds from Quebec by SLP??? (Being an older 82 - 92 and not a 93 - 02 (which were made in Quebec)) I knew he meant the original 92 Firehawk of which only 23 or so were ever made... I politely replied saying, no, actually the car was made out of the Van Nuys, California assembly plant before it was closed... He looked at me like I was crazy and didnt know what I was talking about, but clearly that was not the case... I had successfully messed with his head... Now thats what I love... fooling people into believing the car came like that... quality mods that look factory... It leaves people scratching their heads, bc to be honest, alot of people just dont have the skill or the imagination for modding a car... so they can sit there and stare at a set of projector retro'd headlights and try and figure out why yours are different from the next car beside you... and still not udnerstand... it happens at my coffee shop all the time...

If you want to be radically different from the other bizzilion plain jane grocery getter GPs, you will only accomplish this in a tasteful way by doing small things over time... In other words, alot of small mods = a big difference in the end... Thats why cars like Dave's (Drunkie), Victor Smalls, Milestone, Orange Envy, and soon Miss Chelsea and others are winners, bc they have this all figured out.

There is a chance that you will move forward with your current plans and be very happy with how it turns out, but there is a bigger chance that you will walk out to your car one day soon and think to yourself: what did I do? Regardless of what we here or others say or react... its that feeling... your own that matters the most...

All we are trying to do is help you out, the purpose of GPONA and other clubs is to help you, me, and others figure out what works and what doesnt... This will help you save alot of money by putting it where you get the best return for your investment... Alot of wise suggestions have already been made: fix your lift support, get the radio tucked away, go get some tire wet (silicone based tire dressing, bc those tires are getting dried out), leave the headlights if you want, get all those badges off of there, get some lowering springs, do a stripe similar to the dodge, but not the actual dodge stripe... people will know it doesnt belong on your car... Leave the red bits if you llike them, they arent bad on the interior...

I think Ive said enough, but you will feel better about your car and get alot more looks and compliments if you follow this approach instead of the one you are taking now... Otherwise maybe consider an import if you dont want to change your modding tactics/style. :)
