I found some carbon fiber fabric and I'm going to cover the kick plates with it. I will also cut the plates out to fit the shape of the door panel, and use some double sided 3M tape to attach them. It will look like the pattern in the picture, tell me if you like it.

I like the carbon fiber idea. Even that on the kickplate would be nice step from stock.

I don't think you kicked the door panels any less in the GP, you just didn't realize you did it because the panels don't scuff like they do in the G8.
