I saw this video once before. The money this kid got invested into this car is really insane. Crazy Paul is on Grrrr8, He is the contact in Australia for OEM Holden parts.

Typically I'm not a fan of Replica's, but he's done good... The spoiler looks good on that car, can't say I'd like it on anything else. BUT, that's a heckuva lot of money to put into.. at the end of the day, a G8.

Wow, beautifull car. I didnt watch this w/ sound (was in a coffee shop) so I'm not sure just how much it costs...the rims alone had to be upwords of 5 grand >_>. He did a very good job with the car.

Where he put most of his cash was in the engine build. I have to watch it again but I'm pretty sure he mentions ls series big block.

As far as the visuals are concerned you would be at arround 10 grand to convert using jhp. Hopefully much cheaper through crazy Paul or other channels.

I would do a clubsport front end or or the series 2.

And Kendra I think of it the opposite way... Every g8 is a slightly toned down Holden commodore... He just helped it reach it's true potential...

He's sporting big brembos on a 2008 so the car obviously was not a gxp to begin with...

The cost and hassle to bring in an actual holden that's not built to north American specs and right hand drive would be so high that it would be cheaper and easier to just convert a g8.

I'll admit it's over the top and beyond what most of us can do but I have seen alot of corvette and mustang people spend just as much on their rides and even then not stand out in a parking lot...

Atleast it's different.

And I get why you guys like the g8 and I'm cool with that... I'm a diehard Pontiac guy too... But to me this car will always be a Holden commodore first...

It was and you can tell it. The Holden based Pontiac's you can tell aren't american so to speak. Their designs seem just a little bit cleaner, their lines just a little bit sharper. That being Said I love the GP to much to ever sell it :smile: Shes mine till death do us part haha. And will be my toy/daily driver till I get my Trans Am at which point she will become a nice Daily driver.

The Trans-Am is a step back from the Grand Prix and specially the G8. Sure they're fast and handle well but that's about it. The ride is awful and the car is a rattle trap, along with a long list of other complaints from f-body owners.

I am pretty sure you can import them through Canada. Not 100% sure, And it would be left hand drive.

I met him more than like 8 times during car show. He has been very busy. He has a baby so he doesn't have time anymore. His car is sick with Camaro rims.

So how much of our stuff qualifies as OEM plus? Cause I know lots of us use GM parts and what not to mod and make it a little nicer. He seems more murdered then OEM plus though.

What he means is that you could fool alot of people into believing it came like that from the factory... Kinda like what a zr1 is for corvette.

As for fbodies... I hear what your saying about rattles and ride quality... Afterall even the last of trans ams were basically rolling arround on the same chassis as the first if the 3rd gens in 1982 ...

But rely its hard to say that our cars are better because its like comparing apples and oranges...

Grand prix = comfortable, sport touring, stable, safe, commuter, grocery getter, fun but practical...

Trans am = muscle car fun, v8 torque, v8 sound, fast, mod friendly, and did I say fun? Just make sure you get an m6 instead of a slush box unless yur gunna drag it. Now practical it is not, harsh ride yes... And with 330 horse in the ws6 ls1 cars, it is a drivers car...

Will I have a 98-02 one day to replace my 92 gta? Yes! Preferably a som m6 ws6 ragtop!

As for the g8... All the critics raved about the car when it came out, I've driven a base model v6 and I can tell you that car does not compare in acceleration or torque to our blown gtps... I think the way to go with a g8 is to hold out for the ls3 gxp variant...

The Australians invested 2 billion au in its development so you know it's gotta be a well executed car all the way arround!

I'm curious to here from don and Anthony on how they are finding the g8 gt motor for modding, performance, fuel economy, and reliability?

You guys heard what this guy said... He blew his motor up??? Ouch.

I can tell you right now.. With the Superchips tune, CAI and intake I gained 30 hp. Around 390 HP to the crank.. With a dyno tune, Headers you will exceed 400 hp. I have the dyno sheets to prove it. It's pretty impressive with a four door sedan that sicks out among the crowd.
