i just bought a wideband and il having a bung welded in to my zzp 3 inch downpipe. i thought it was a good idea to save 10 bucks and get a downpipe without a bung at the time of purchase[:'(]. anyhow i know o2 sensors have to be placed in a ceratin area to work best, so heres my question. shoudl i have the bung put in pretty much where the stock one would have been?

or should i put it closer or further since i dont have a cat?

I thought the wideband goes in the front o2 hole. it's supposed to be checking emissions "before the cat", but since you don't have one maybe it won't matter. But I thought thats where it went

I am in the same boat. My plan was to install in the stock location and use the narrowband sim output for the PCM, but I'm told the widebands can't take the heat as well as the NB and will not last very long. The suggestions are to place the WB 18 to 24" away from the exhaust manifold. Also the nose/sensor end is suppose to tilt slightly downward toward the ground to allow for any water to drip out as water/humidity will kill them as well. Since you have no cat you have a wide area there to place it. I'm going for the area after the flex just before the cat.
