I cleaned mine out today and, well, the damn car now wants to choke out at stoplights. When in gear and stopped, I felt the car sputtering and nearly stalling, but after a few miles it seemed to get better. Think it's bad?

I had a similar problem with mine, the MAF was bad, it cost about $150 to replace. Try just unplugging the MAF and see if it seems to do ok, if it does than that is your problem.

FYI I drove mine for a few months without an MAF, so no hurry to replace it.

I hope you didn't go into PE mode (you did if you went over 30% throttle) during thse few months.

Mike I'm guessing you used CRC brand maf cleaner or something like that? If the car's not doing any better the MAF is probably bad. Morad's sells them for a good price considering they're used.

You know, here's the strange thing. It isn't bucking or stalling anymore. It was getting bad before, now it runs smoother than it did before...? We'll see. If it f*cks up again I'm calling Morad.

And how did you know I used CRC MAF cleaner??? lolz

It might have still been pissed off about the sensor before and now's its settling down now that the sensor is clean?

As for the CRC Maf cleaner...you don't need to know how I know

Actually it's the only brand I can think of that makes MAF-specific cleaner.

OK, I'll go Saturday if it's bad. I'll let you know, because if it isn't bucking and sputtering again by Friday I'm going to assume it's good.

Take 41 south from Appleton, get off on the II exit. Go West on II, to fieldcrest Dr. (after the gas station) Go left, and it's at the end of the road (dead end)

I just recently cleaned my MAF with CRC brand MAF cleaner, and a couple days later I got hit with three codes. One comes up every so often and that's because of my 180 t-stat. But I got a P0102, P0128, and P0300 codes right after cleaning my MAF. But they only came on once, and I cleared the codes with my AeroForce gauge, and they haven't come back on since. I think it was because I had just cleaned the MAF, because "STKKS" ran rough there for a bit.

P0102 - Mass Air Flow Sensor Performance
P0128 - Engine Coolant Temp
P0300 - Engine Misfire

^^^ Yeah, I had exactly that happen. I'm gonna do that tune up tomorrow and get it running right, then we'll see if there's a real issue.
