so at the track last night, i got in 5 runs...the first three were all within about a half an hour..

Image

my car is literally getting stuck at 95mph...every time id get to 95 it would just stop pulling (its around 4k rpms), almost like it was hitting a rev limiter. the worst part is i still have a few hundred feet of track when this happens.

two of the e/t's are exactly the same down to 1/1000 of a second. something weird is going on. the only thing i had going for me was it was consistant all night.

then my last two runs the same thing happened again...it was a little bit colder this time around.

Image

and this isnt to mention that my trims were locking at 0 and i had .5* of KR last week and now this week (without changing the tune at all) i have up to 3-4, and up to 6* of kr and my trims are locking a 3.9

i logged my last run, but its on a friends laptop. i'll get the scan, look it over and post it asap.

between the crappy track prep, my magically appearing kr and fuel trims at 3.9, and the fact i cant go faster than 95 is holding me back from 13's.

what is going on? :mad: :mad: :mad:

Try a DHP 1.5, then take your car to the track on test and tune day and get it tuned while at the track.

You have SC Boost Control timer base, Timer Max and Timer Adder, Tcs on & off. If the value of the timer exceeds the Timer Max it cuts boost.

when you started off your tune, was it on that zzp pcm that you had or did you use a different one?

Why are you worried about 4th gear? At 95mph, that's still second gear.

started on the zzp pcm, which was origianlly programmed for a 2000 daytona gtp...

it hink i may be on to somethign though...i hope.

either this

the catalyst portection in the pcm seems like it coudl be the problem, or look at the boost timer here..

Supercharger>Boost Control>Excess MPH Enable Timer> Should be 180, but some are set to 2, car hits third gear, 2 seconds later boost pull!

or this

quoted from bob c on cgp:

Ok, I think I have this figured out. There is a timer on the supercharger that is always active. This timer has three values that are used to determine boost duration and when boost has been active for too long:

1. Base
2. Adder (value is variable based on MAF and could be positive or negative)
3. Max

In normal driving the MAF value produces positive and negative Adder numbers which are added and subtracted from the Base. If enough positive numbers are accumulated, the Max is exceeded, and the BBV is open to relieve excess pressure.

In WOT driving the maximum MAF positive Adder values are accumulated quickly, and the BBV is open when Max is exceeded.

Here is what I found on my PCM:

Base = 11520
Adder = 12.81 for the highest MAF value
Max = 12800

If we assume that the Adder value is added to the Base every second, in exactly 10 seconds my Max is exceeded, and the BBV valve is opened. I looked at all my scans and the boost loss was right in that 10 second range.

I looked at some other tunes, and nobody else had a Max value this low. I'm going to increase this up to like 30000 for now. That should take care of the problem, although yanking the BBV line would have the same effect.

mien shifts into 3rd at like 93-94, iirc, but yeah, i hope i never see 4th gear at wot, i hear it doesnt like boost.

You should see if you can get ahold of a dhp pcm and try that, i could easily feel the difference when I switched from the intense pcm. The base tuning on the pcm is different and it may make it easier to tune to your liking.

Yea in my bin it worked out to be over 14 seconds. I don't know if you have access to the adder table but if you do, you could change all the adders to zero so it wouldn't ever increase.

What were the weather conditions for your runs without KR, and the runs with KR?? Lower temps and humidity changes can really change the way your vehicle runs, especially how your A/E looks.

when i did my runs it was 38-45 degrees

Mine did this. It's the time vs PE_A/F table. Lean it out, and you'll be good to go. You should still be in 2nd gear at the line anyways.

I don't. I was four tenths faster staying in second. This was on stock rockers, cam, and springs. I can't imagine if I would have had the tune and hardware now.
