Gotta wax it! Even though you probably aren't showin' the car in winter, you need to protect what you have. In winter, it's not about the shine, it's about protection. You'll be glad when Springtime rolls around.

Sooo, grab the PC and get to it! ;-)

I was thinking about waxing the Grand Prix with
some Meguiars NXT, but I bet the wax will
loose its shine after 2 weeks. Do you guys
wax your GP before winter or do you just
forget about it and just drive it with no
wax.

Two coats of wax.
Don't bother with Next Gen from Meguairs.
Stick with the Gold Class.
The synth' crap is hazy.

Is that the one that comes in a can or some sort of jar?
I use their tire dressing.
Good stuff.

it comes in a rectangular bottle http://www.autoglym.com/enGB/product-pr ... p?v06VQ=HD i used it last week rub it and leave it for 10 mins then come back and whip off really brings the shine out and protects. I usally do it with hand but do it in a garage or shade area so u can see the haze dry up !

Zaino is where it's at. I've been using it for years now and I love it. I just bought some Collinite 845 to use as a "winter wax" but I'll be applying it over my 1000 coats of Zaino. I could use the Zaino in the winter but I don't need the exceptional shine it provides so I don't want to waste the product. Based on what I've read on autogeek and other forums, the Collinite 845 Insulator wax is very durable like Zaino, but it's cheaper and takes less time to apply, perfect for winter.

^ Back when I believed in waxing my car this is what I used... I still have the tin can of it laying around somewhere...

-- Thu Sep 29, 2011 9:24 am --

that and I ran out of the stuff... it's actually real popular with the marine crowd. Lots of guys use it to polish the boat hull cause it does such an excellent job of protecting against water/salt and grime

Kyle did you order some off line or do you know where they still sell this at? I wouldn't mind getting another two or three bottles of the stuff.

I've used the Collinite 845 as a winter wax with great results, you can find it on Ebay or Autogeek.net

Advance Auto Parts, duh. Plus I can get it for like 12-13 bucks vs the 16-17 it sells for normally.

disagree. My Meguiars NXT last for year and half now. No joke. Maybe because my car is garage queen. After my show car is out for left axle repair. It is raining all day yesterday at parking lot. It still bead all over.

Ok ya caught me! I know NXT lasts longer then that. I'm just promoting Zaino.

Pat any wax will last a long time if you don't wash the car. The soap is what removes the wax.

you sir need to hook me up! I just spent 30 bucks on wax and you could have gotten it for way less.... way to rip me off bro! haha.

Not a big fan of the NXT stuff. I used it, but it was a hazy swirly mess until I washed it =/
