It shouldn't do that, but it's happened to another guy here: clicking when turning (NOW WITH PICS)

I just want to say thanks for referring me to that thread, i thought i was the only person who owned a Grand Prix had this problem. The guy who posted that thread has the exact same problem that i am having. I'm buying a new starter tomorrow and hope it will fix it. Thanks again Blackarrow98gp. :google:

I've had that thread bookmarked for a while, glad I could help you out! :mrgreen:

The original starter in my '98 almost left me stuck at an all Pontiac car show last year, because the starter drive wouldn't disengage from the flywheel. It sounded like a cement mixer, lol! On the 4th try I managed to get it started okay, drove home and replaced the starter the next day. ;-)
