There is a write up the the DIY section. Get 2 cans, that'll be enough to do a whole system clean out

I've always been leery of putting seafoam in the crankcase. I've used it in the vacuum line and gas tank with great results, but to me the only thing that should ever be in the block is oil and nothing else.
What type of oil have you been running in the car? Cleaning the engine up at this point might just cause oil leaks that would otherwise been sealed up.

Seafoam in the oil will work to clean deposits, but so will high quality oil. I would recommend just running good oil and you shoudn't have any need to put the seafaom in the crankcase. If you do decide to mix it with the oil, don;t drive more than ~50 miles on it, the seafoam "cuts" the oil and causes it to sheer down to a lower weight (30 weight oil may start to behave more like a 20 weight or even less).

Only put seafoam in the crank if you want to permanently lower your oil pressure.....

You'd be better running off running an oil with detergent in it than running seafoam in the crank. It's like fixing a radiator leak with an egg yolk... will it work? Sure, but it's not really recommended.

only reason why it lowers oil pressure is becuase the oil can more more freely and you are now actualy see just how worn the engine realy is not becuase the seafoam damaged the engine.

i have used seafoam in the crank case did no harm to the merc and the oil pressure actualy went up on the guage (most of had a clog before the sensor) i only drove 10 miles to get the engine up to temp then changed it out it is the exact same process when you get and engine flush at a shop but there cleaner is a lot stronger then seafoam is

I had a buddy over in lima work on a motor that had half a can added to a 5qt sump. The car was driven (drove?, w/e it's late don't care) 80 miles. The car started knocking, changed oil continued to drive until siezed.... Possibly the seafoam cleaned something out or it got to shear and the rod beaing spun which knocked which moved the thrust washed and ended up galling a crank bearing and siezing the motor.... catastrophic failure anyone?

O btw the car had 16 psi oil pressure before and 2psi after =P.

As for what oil to use. If you really think the motor is gummed up just run the regular Mobile 1 synthetic. You could run the highmileage stuff, but like planeboy said, you run the risk of pissing off seals and making the motor leak more. I think pouring it in your gas tank and then sucking a little in the vacuum line is adequate. Granted that only cleans the injectors and Intake valve, but it's better than nothing.

i would put that in user error. that is way to much seafoam and he drove the car way to long. it also depends on the milage before use.

he thinned the oil out too much. i never use more then a 1/4 can i belive the can even sais not to use more the 1/4

This. I don't think its necessary.

I would say if your determined to put something in the crankcase add a bit of trans fluid( dextron III is fine.) It is a higher detergient but still has lubricating properties,

But what ever you do DON'T DRIVE IT VERY FAR before getting the oil back out or you could be replacing some parts, or the whole motor. The key is to Not overdo it.

I personally wouldn't add it to the oil, I've recently done a sefoam treatment myself but only added through brake/vac hose and to fuel tank, thats where you will benefit the most.

that many miles you could loosen up carbon and realy kcuf it up by bending a valve on a catbon chunk

Why are you so convinced that using Seafoam is a good idea?
