thinking about rebadging
at least the gtp badges
maybe one on the trunk?

thoughts?

because right now i have petrified glue in the shape of a gtp badge in random places

so i did learn thanks to gm document id # 572264
6inches from the front of the door. 6.8inches from the bottom of the door

also the guy i work with has a 2000 gtp coupe in all black and doesn't believe we have the same car....

he thinks i have a gt w/ gtp badges, but however he is right thanks to gm in early production.
someone correct me if i'm wrong on the z7m

^^^thats what I did when I had my 98.

Op it's pretty simple... If you lift yur hood and there's no supercharger then you have a gt with gtp badges...

If you have an sc on the car and think it might have been top swapped, take the vin to your local dealer and they will let you know your cars true identity.

I've never been a fan of someone badging a car when it's not the real deal.

actualy 99 was the first year for the GTP model. in 97 and 98 the GTP was an option package on the GT model

it is sort of how the GTO was never it's own model untill 1970 same with the 442

It was an option package but you had to get the GTP option package to get the L67. Therefore, as long as the 8th digit of the VIN is a "1" then it is a GTP. There's no arguing with the VIN. Sort of like with the Camaros how from 72 through 74 and 77 through 81 (no Z28 75 or 76) you can tell the real Zs apart from the regular Camaros that had 350s by the VIN.

This was the same for the GTA... in 1987 it was an option pkg on the Trans Am (RPO Code Y84 I believe), but in 1988 throught to 1992 (mine is a 1992) it was its own model... GM does weird stuff... LOL

yes they do. i have owned a lot of there weird stuff

like my old 1982 Grand Prix LJ Brogham. it was a mexico export with the 350 oldsmobile diesel but it was ordered with the F41 high perfomance handleing package 3.73 rear gear and posi it also had the 10 bolt rear (like the SS, cutlass 442, and GN) instead of the standared 7.5" rear the g-bodies got and the none locker converter THM350 instead of the standard THM200 or the locking converter THM350.... WTF????

i still have the 2 cowl tags from this car. yes 2 most only had 1 tag

I have a 97 and still have the window sticker. I actually have a GT, but it has the supercharged option which is the GTP package.

Different placement OP. Doesn't look to shabby. I'm consodering putting on turbocharged badging just for the hell of it.
