I always wonders what it could be .. i have a 2001 gt and i usally drive it everyday and im wondering can my transmission be really that bad if i drive it for atleast a good 1-2 hours it starts to shift hard but before that its smooth and runs perfect im guessing its because of heat ? never noticed it skipping or anything its been happening for a while but 241ks on it everything is orignial ! engine and trans

no codes or anything but i heard if i drain the trans oil i might get into more touble sinice the shit in it probably keepin the trans running lol.. and no i never changed the filter :|

Dropping the pan and changing the filter/replacing the fluid you lose (about 8-9qts) will not hurt your trans. Getting the transmission FLUSHED is what is bad for it and could cause it to start slipping. I would highly recommend that you drop the pan and change the filter.

Yes, you lose anywhere between 7 and 9 qts when you drop the pan to change the filter. Just use Dex III ATF, no reason to pay the extra for dex VI.

Agreed! I would def. drop the pan and install new filter and fresh fluid in your trans.
This gets neglected by so many when it comes to routine maint. and is part of the reason clutchs wear out so soon on our trans. Shouldn't cost you anymore than a $50 for fresh fluid and the fitler/gasket kit.

perfect will do soon ! hopfully it stops shifting hard i havent ever noticed a gear slip or not having a gear at all works fine and drives fine to hopefully theirs plently life in it figures crossed !
