I don't know what kind of keys my 05 had, but I had spares made at a local lock smith for 20 a piece and they worked perfectly.

not sure what the 04+ cars do for that system..

and yes alex the coupe and the 40th both have it.

and yes you have to have the key (chip) or the computer will not let the car run. and i dont want the headache of changing the pcm/bcm to try and see if it would work. my plan is quite simple really, i will pull the colmn apart and take loose the passkey "ring" around the tumbler. ( imaigine you had to chage it cause it went bad..) and strip it away from the rest of the harness untill i got it down under the dash and to do something like zip tie or tape one of the chipped keys over the whole and just tuck it up under the dash. wah lah. the sensor will always have its chipped reading and now i can use a cheap $1.10 key and everything will work!

at least that is my theory, and what i will do come spring. and see if it works, although i dont forsee a reason it wouldnt.

write up of sorts
1. relocate hud switch
2. mount push button
3. tap ignition starter wire
4. add 12v + and starter wire to button
5. clean up

i could be wrong, but i belive it was just cut and the plug off and lengthen the wires to reach.
