I need some help. ( I know, shocker eh? ) Anyways, I lost my owners manual and need to turn off my lights so they dont flash when I lock the car. I forgot all about doing this until I read someone elses thread the other day about doing this with HID's.

Help? Please? :D

Turn the key to OFF, but keep the key in.
Remove the MALL PGM fuse from inside the glove box.
(It's on the far right, 3rd up from the bottom.)
Now turn the key to Accessory.
Count the number of chimes you hear.

If it is still on the factory settings, you'll hear 4 chimes.
Press lock on the Keyless Entry Remote until you hear only 1 chime.

1 chime equals no lock confirmation.
2 chimes equals Lamps flash.
3 chimes equals Lamps flash and Horn sounds.
4 chimes equals Lamps and Horn on the second press of LOCK.

Now turn the key to OFF and THEN replace the fuse.

Keep in mind that this is only when you lock the car and not when the alarm is triggered.

Hope that helps.

Thanks BlackOut. Now when you say "alarm is triggered" is that when you hit the button twice?

I have an aftermarket alarm, so i just disabled the factory one.
If I remember correctly, there is an easy way to do it for 97-00.
I saw it somewhere on CGP, but I'm sure Alex will chime in at some point to help with that.

there's a wire you can disconnect that will make the headlights not flash at all (lock, unlock, alarm). or you could route it to your fog lights. i'll look and see what wire it is.

Running it through the foglights would help too.

Except my fogs are HID's too.

Here you go Paul, this is to reroute the alarm flash to your tail lights. Let me know how this goes and if possible take pics of the wires you had to snip and splice. When I went to do it there were a shitload of wires and I didn't want to attempt it in fear of cutting the wrong one.

Ok, I went ahead and did it. I had a few minutes.

10 minute Job. Easy ;)

Thanks to BackinBlack for the write-up on ClubGP linked by AlmightyBirdman.

Spliced an extra piece of wire I had into the Brown wire on the back of the Headlight Switch.

Image

Here's the "Theft Deterrent Relay" Mine has 2 orange 1 white and 1 yellow wire.

Image

Cut the yellow wire, Connect the wire running from the Brown wire on your headlight switch to the Yellow wire running into the Relay.

Tape up the other half of the Yellow wire since it will not be used but will be "hot" when the lights are activated. (I put a butt connector on the end and then taped it up. I Zip-Tied my wires up so there wouldnt be any movement but it's not necessary.)

Image

Done. Took me literally 10 minutes. Easy easy job.

Only issue is my Fogs flash with my park lights :( I can just flip my Fogs switch off before I get out though. Easy enough ;)

Tails flash now too :D

And when the alarm is activated, the Corners and Tails flash. Not the headlights. ;)

I left my fogs switched on so you could see that they flash with the corner lights.

Flip your high beam switch before you get out of your car and your fogs will flash with your headlights when you lock your car. ;)

PM BackInBlack on CGP. He'd know how to do it if it can be done.
