I do for 3 months or 3000 miles. I don't trust computer too. Once, Pontiac G6 already pass 3,000 miles. The computer say 57% It is dirty oil. I don't want get risky to have G6 engine broken.

Okay, time to come in and bust up some myths about synthetic oils.

1. If your engine has no oil leaks, it is safe to switch to synthetic oil. If you have even a small leak, a synthetic oil will make it worse.
2. It is safe to switch back and forth between synthetic and conventional oil. Your motor won't care as long as it's the proper weight. Don't go trying to use gear lube in your crank case!
3. Not all synthetics are equal. Mobil 1, Syntec, RP are pretty much top of the line, the rest generally fall somewhere below these. All are better than conventional oil and will allow you longer time between oil changes.

10W30 and if the previous owner used synthetic use that, if not I just use Castrol Syntec which is part synthetic and good for high mileage cars. Don't waste your money on expensive oil filters either. Just buy the AC Delco replacement blue filter from Advance Auto.

Syntec is a full synthetic, and for the record, it really does NOT hurt a car to switch back to conventional contrary to what almost anyone in this neighborhood seems to think (damn cheeseheads).

Sorry I meant Syntec blend. But for my last oil change I used GTX.
