P0306 - Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected

Check the spark plug wire.. When was the last time you changed the wires?

Check the coil packs make sure the contacts are not corroded. If all are good as you suggest, I would replace the ICM under the coil packs.

I would also swap the coil locations and see if the misfire follows, if it does then you either have a bad coil or wire.

so i swapped coil and ran half a can of seafoam in a little over a quarter of a tank and went for a very spirited ride. laid on it from 20 to about 80. no missfire. but the car smelled alot. why would that be?

probably because your burning out a lot of the stuff clogged in the injectors. And that is a pretty strong mix for sea foam in a vehicle. Or at least it seems like it.

i didnt think that i just thought because when this all started. i had just bought the car, drove an hour home carefully because i had swapped plates and bought out of state. so my girl was behind me on the last stretch of highway home i layed on it from like 55 to maybe 70 and it misfired and she said it reeeked but didnt notice alot of smoke. then last night when i took it out she was with me. i layed on it a couple times and it smelled. and she said thats how it smelled before when it happened. i feel like at idle it smoke a lil bit more than normal.

I hate when exhaust smells like burnt hair. YUCK. Wouldn't most cars smell under a heavy load? I always notice on the road if someone passes me, I get a whiff of stink if they are giving it (new and older vehicles).
