I had the motor out and just set it back there before I put the motor back in... typicly the way to do it would be to put a jack under the rear of the subframe and just about to take the rear cradle bolts out. And have them catching by several threads but most of the way out and let the back of the subframe.down and put the header up there, it usually makes just enough room for them too fit. That ia how I did it in the green car, but it seems like I pulled it out the top before.

And here are todays pics

Thanks, the wife says I am too modest and humble about it, but I primarily see the things that are not done, or that I still have or want to do. But after looking at some of the pics that I took the other day and realizing how much everybody else likes it and how good it actually does look, it is just taking me some time to get used to it as most of my stuff in the past has been more function over form, and this one is starting to look as well as run good. And it takes me a bit to step back and be proud of that.

So thank you all that have given props I know I busted my ass expescially in the short term to get it where it is and every so often I get to stand back and reilize that the nice car I am looking at or admiring a bit is actually mine. It almost seems surreal sometimes, like.... that can't be mine , it is too nice.

see any one else i would not of sold the car too,

reason i offered it to you is 1) i knew you would get it running 2) take care of it 3) you had a car you where willing to trade for it that ran lol

i had a bunch of high schoolers and college students that where offering me riced out clapped out hondas or rusted to hell 80's "mucle" cars for it after the fire

Im sure with the issues that I have had even that they would have sold it too. It was a good start even when I got it from you so not to hard to get it right.

So do you think I have done it justice so far??

I have not spent that much on it really. ( asside from wheels/tires and hood.) Almost everything else I have done has mostly with parts that came with it. ( granted the ic and such are extras I acquired seperately.) But like the heads I just played with what I had, same with the blower, that is the very same blower that you had on re car I just spent some time and ported it a bit. The heads are the spares that you had gotten hold of. The battery drain issue was fixed with the extra fuse box on the extra wire harness ( allthough it took some time and patience to figure that one out) I know my biggest thing I have going are the access to tools and knowledge ( my dad , when and if some advice was needed) the gasket kit and everything was there. I didn't even spend money on coolant yet ( I have straight water at the moment, but that will change soon). So to get it going everything was there that was needed just the appearance stuff that I have gotten extra. And I have a very nifty way of selling things I have to pay for those I want. Ie selling my xp, and a set of s10 wheels to pay for the 18's I used the money from selling my 86 s10 to buy the hood. And traded some parts for the ic. ( granted I paid for them at one point but I didn't have to put cash out for them)

Next will be what to sell ( probly my 17's) to pay for tint and tune..

Just need to up your skill ( and patience) some.

Besides also. Some things just are not ment to be. That car was your kryptonite for sure.

it was running funky before the fire. what ever you did with the engine swaps and wiring harness fixed it

it was running super rich before the fire and i was trying to figure it out. black smoke was comming out of the exhuast and it was way down on power. odd thing was i did nothing too the car to make it run that way

Could have been any number of.sensors that came off my other car ( with all the swapping). That did it

Edit to add that I think.when I was having crank.sensor issues with the l67 ( after I hurt it) seems like we grabbed the one off your l32 block and determined that it was bad also and just bought a new one and now I am using the 1 of my l 36 they had who knows how many miles on it

bigdog you have no idea how jealous i am of your car. it looks amazing. there is seriously almost nothing i would change about it other than like tint and some other stuff. What really grabs my attention is the grey hood. I've never seen that done and personally I believe it looks pretty sharp. Just wanted to let you know how good of a job you've done on this vehicle. and how you were talking about noticing how much other people say good things about your car, it happens to me all the time and you kinda think to yourself "does it really look that good"

thanks for the kind words. i plan on doing tint. (every inch of glass in the car) and the hood is just in the factory gel coat that it came in. i will paint it just go give it better protection if nothing else. as i had a little spot of bird $hit look like it started eating the gel coat and i can kinda start to see the fibers of the fiberglass in that spot. i may or may not add contrast to it later but i will get it painted if for no other reason thann to get some form of protection on it.

and yah for the overall looks i know it looks pretty good and i love the hood and the profile/look it gives the car but to hear others saying that it looks good or that they wished they could do something like that is still kinda surreal. then there is the way it runs loping with the cam and such that grabs some attention too.

just for the fun of it what other things would change? on second thought dont answer that hear i will make a thread for it.

Gel coat or not, i think the grey actually looks really good and different. Everyone seems to always go for the black/carbon fiber hood and this is kind of like a "F-U look what i thought of".

Well I just started a couple of new threads of some extra work that should get me the cash to finish things off and but an end to the performance end of this thing. But keep your eyes open I tend to do alot. ( like my 97 gt to gtp trans swap)

Awesome, I'm looking forward to it. Have you considered the SD front air dam? I think it would really set the car off.

I have and for the ill looking figment of it unless you mold it on, and the price have kept me away for now. Not sure how the lip would go with the hood either. I smell a photo chop in the future. I have a pick of the ideal car. I just have to reference it so I can get the same angle to chop my hood onto it.
