not sure if i have a thread about this car but sense i am going to be modding it soon thought i would make a new one

bought the car in febuary from the car lot at my work came in as a trade $2,000 out the door fully loaded black 4dr sun roof

did some repairs to it. had the driver rear window regualtor replaced, the recall done, changed out the brakes, new calliper and rotors on the front, oil change

after that decided to get some parts for it so bought some cleared tails from Mike (thelongone13) and some clear corners. also got a set of STB and later rear Don Rome brackets

car needs some rust repair as it has no rockers at all and has tiny scratches all ocer the place and clear coat cancer. i was just going to clean it up and leavie it as is no aftermarket hood or spoiler but wile cleanign it i noticed it was a GTX. not sure if it was ordered as one or if it was converted later (SLP did do aftermarket convertions) so new plan is to turn it back into one

i have headers and a whole top end gasket set ready to go on with a MPS pulley system for now

it says henessy greenville

i think it was one of the dealerships that had the car over the years. it will be removed when i debadge the trunk to take care of the rust and buff the heck out of the rear bumper to get the rust stain out

it has the SLP sway bars, the door sticker, and 1 center cap in the glove box other then that it has been stripped of all the GTX goodness. at one point it did have a diffrent spoiler probably the gen 1 (yuck) and has a beat up stock spoiler on it now.

it also has the 9C1 rear trailing arms in the back

the GTX stuff i will be buying for the car as i find them cheap or have money for will be

GTX hood (i really want the single inlet vertion but that will not happen)
Gen 2 spoiler
the badges (the trunk still has the goo from the GTX badge they just put the GRAND PRIX over it)
GTX center caps (i hate the GTX rims but ifi can find some cheap GSX regal rims i would be all over those)
Cat Back or at least the dual slash tips (never liked the trapazoid ones)
floor mats

and that is really it i know it is crazy and stupid to restore a GP but why not in 30-40 years these cars may actualy be worth something sense they are just throw away beater cars now

-- Mon May 09, 2011 8:59 pm --

just bought these

I like the tails. They look pretty good on your car. Glad you could get some use out of them, since I wouldn't.

yup i think with a light tint to hide some of the delamination they will be perfect.

it begins headers came in and the engine is now down to the long block lol

going to change out the LIM gaskets. home port the LIM and maybe home port the S/C. the couple is still really tight so i think that has been changed before no slop

also the last person to do work on this car should never hold a wrench agian every single bolt i have touched has only been finger tight. this includes the idler pulleys that are shot (botht he smooth plastic ones) also one head bolt was loose and leaking coolant retourqed it and all seems good almost like some one was trying to make a head gasket go bad?

i suspect the woman that owned this before me's mechanic was trying to take advantage of her that pisses me off
