I know there is a compression difference but I'll be dammed if I can remember where. Pistions rod crank ect. I am considereing combining some parts to build another motor as a spare or to sell but want to make sure I combine the parts correctly.

Blocks are the same right?

Thanks guys

ok so that tells me that these are the things that are different

pistons
rods
heads
block??

there was no info for just block are the same? different?
heads i belive to be just the injector bosses are what are different.

but what are the differences in the pistons/rods?

thanks for the link btw.

the l67 have a 40cc dish and shorter rods to allow the L67 to have a thicker ring land

the L36 has a 20cc dish and longer rods becuase it does not need the thicker ring lands as the L67

the block, crank, and head castigs are the exact same

only diffrence in th heads is the boses are machined in the L67 heads and not machined int he L36 heads

so reilisticly the l67 pistons are stronger? at least in the ring lands? (but how much is probably minimal)

and i am guessing that you cant put the l67 pistons on the l32 rods as they would probably hit the heads.

now my to decide what type of bottom end i will build next. l32 or l67, or hell possibly both, but what to do with them when done? i am getting another topend from an l67 (i think i will snag the good pistons too.) i have a few items around now..

l32 complete minus upper intake, rod knock
l67 complete (apart but have everything) ver not good pistons

l67 from yard. complete, rod knock. i am supposed to take back the short block after i pull the topend off (for scrap weight.) i think i will keep it and find like a 305 block to take back insted. giving me another buildable motor, or enough parts to fix the motor that i built and hurt the pistons in.

also getting the trans out of the same ssie so i will have one in each car and a spare..

possibly sell a topswap kit? and bottom end with parts to replace the pistons? who knows at this point.

yeah N/A rods with supercharged pistons resalts in the piston poking out of the block lol

and the supercharged rods with N/A pistons resolts in lower then stock compretion i think it's like 8:1 compared tot he 8.5:1

You want compression, though. Boost is the least efficient way to make power.

actualy it's been proven the same boost on less compretion = more power
