Alrite I want to intercool my car. I was thinking about buying the SSIC kit for $550. Does that come with everything so I can basiculy bolt it on when I get it in the mail? I was thinking about building my own kit. Going with the SSIC core and then buying the frozzen boost heat exchanger and so on. What route would be better. I want to keep this as close to $550 as posible. I realy only want to run a 3.4 pully right now. Then there is this other route I have been wanting to do. I can get a used Thrasher cam for $150. Then I would buy new spring and a double roller. The thing is I want to do this still around $550. I would do the cam without taking the heads off since I can get the tools to do so. However, do I have to do any milling to the heads to run the Thrasher cam? I guess I just cant decide what I want to do. lol Oh, by the way so people dont think I have a GTP. I have a top swaped GT.

With the SSIC you would still need fuel rails, have to mod your own, or you use injector spacers to run it. New it's going to cost well over $550. The Intense one for sale in the classfied's is worth the money. You will still have to get cradle spacers for the hood to close.

No I dont have the thrasher cam. I just know a guy that is selling one. So basiculy I should just go with the cam cause the intercooler is going to cost way more?

Don't buy that cam. It's setup for a car that is going 200+ MPH on the salt flats, serously. And after you buy springs and heads for it you're WAY out of budget.

You can install ANY intercooler without needing cradle spacers if you buy proper fuel rails and don't have an SD hood.

Go intercooler but don't get the SSIC.

Go intercooler, it's a better idea in the long run.
And then you can easily drop your pulley size when you would like to.

If you change your mind about a SSIC let me know. $490 shipped to your door. Comes with everything plus injector spacers, minus the S/C gaskets. Even has the ZZP paper directions as well. Let me know.

What kind of heat exchanger? How long has it been on the car and whats the condition?

It was exchanger 1 from ZZP, but not the new one that looks like a A2A intercooler. It's been on for 25k miles. I took the core off last night when I did the LIM gasket. Will be taking off the FMHE tonight. As far as condition it's about as good as you can get for used one. I"ll post pictures tonight or tomorrow. I did notice last night the longer S/C bolts are stripped so you would want to go through ZZP and order new ones. They run $12 so I would take off the cost to replace them. So it would be $478 shipped.

If this is your daily driver, i would suggest an I/C over a cam....but in my opinoin...you will be disapointed with the SSIC....i would recomend going full size or just waiting and saving money....even though many, many people daily drive cam'd cars and they are fine...it is much easier to daily drive and to tune with the I/C than the Cam......I would suggest getting an aeroforce scan gague also so you can always moniter knock...just in case the pump ever goes out....just my $.02
