I would say stay away from the chip. If you want performance tuning get a DHP PCM. There is a lot you can do with a GP. Just browse this site to get ideas.

Chips are only worthwhile on OBDI vehicles. On an OBDII vehicle you're much better off getting the PCM tuned. Read up on this site and you'll get LOTS of information.

it keeps the a/f ratio turned way down forcing the pcm to dump more fuel, burning more fuel in the mixture and thus creating more power

a tuned pcm goes and matches the right a/f ratio to produce the max avalible power for you set up

stay AWAY FROM ZZP

dhp would be better suited for you

or a tune from a local guy

Yeah, I've heard of problems with ZZP PCMs.

Best bet is to find a local guy to give you a simple tune or get a DHP reprogrammed pcm. Or just buy a tuner and call it a day.

Your car does not have a "chip" so to speak. It has a rewriteable Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or computer as most call it. There are very few performance parts companies I would trust with Grand Prix stuff, and I will list them all at the bottom of this post. That chip will not work at all on your particular vehicle. When it comes time to decide on what mods you want or need to understand them better, just post a thread in here and the GPONA community will gladly help you out and make sure you don't accidentally blow up your car.

Companies I would trust:

ZZ Performance
www.zzperformance.com

Intense Racing
www.intense-racing.com

W-Body Store
www.wbodystore.com

Parts For Your Car (more the appearance stuff really)
www.grandprixstore.com
