I have parts for HUD.

HUD
HUD control

I need to get wires and dash cover at junk yard tomorrow.

Dash cover is broken but maybe I will take it if FLIP can fix it like he fixed SD front air dam.

Do I miss anything else?

My guess is that you can't just install a hud that didn't come with the car without the computer from the doner car either. That hud is linked to the gauge cluster which is linked to the PCM, so unless there is a way to hook the HUD up to the PCM you might have problems.

you can install a HUD in a car that didn't come with one. the HUD plug will either be in your car already or you'll need to wire it yourself.

 Somebody tell me if that doesn't sound like something a GM Dealer will tell you to convince you it's not a do-it yourself mod so they can proceed to rip you off...??

I did it, but I already had the plugs. Really easy once you come to terms with cutting a big arse hole in your dash.

Concerning the "HOLE CUTTING". If you guys got a HUD dash piece, you would not need to CUT any holes .. Right? Or am I missing something needs to be cut under the dash??

The dash itself has a large hole for the HUD. Looks at your HUD next time you're in the Daytona and you'll understand.

Mike,

I know there is a HOLE for the HUD. But I have never seen a dash apart on a NON- HUD 97-2003 GP... The trim piece that houses the HUD is only part of the DASH. not the whole thing. So my question was is there ANOTHER hole that must be cut into the NON-HUD dash Below the trim panel itself?.. Hope this is a bit clearer than what I was trying to state before.

Wow, I totally forgot this thread. I sold it already because I changed my mind. It is not worth it for me. I still have gray HUD dash but some clips is broken. They are free from junk yard. It is still sitting in my apt. I keep forgot throw it away lol

Yes, you need to cut a hole in the dash. The reason the hole isn't there from the factory on a non-hud car is that the hud dash cover extends up towards the steering wheel and covers up the hole. The non-hud dash cover doesn't extend up at all and if there was a hole, it wouldn't be covered up.

top is the dash from a non-hud car. bottom is from a hud car.

I believe all model should have buried "HUD" on it. When I rip top dashboard out from 1998, 99 and 00 SE model at junk yard to make sure it is there. It was there before I plan cut mine but I changed my mind. How was your HUD project? Is it working? I hope so.
