ok, I know, ricer question. Before I get massively flamed, I just want to know a few things. I've heard the U-Bend delete frees up 20 or 5 HP. I don't know how much a 3.5" pulley nets either. So, with all my mods in the list to follow, how much at the crank? I would REALLY like to hear 300, but I doubt that will be the case. Remember this is Crank, not WHP, so we're starting with 240.

Custom DHP 1.5
3.5"
180* (no hp gain, just for KR reduction)
U-Bend Delete
K&N filter
AL605s

You might get to 275 - 280 with that setup.

One of the vendor sites had a listing of the ~ WHP & CHP certain mods gave when installed ....

ZZP or Intense

You will not find much in terms of crank hp. You will need to do the math to convert whp to crank if you want that number. I don't know of anyone that has even run an L67 on an engine dyno.

U-bend is 5hp (whp)
http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix ... .php?id=12

3.5 pulley (assuming no knock) I think is like 15hp. (whp)

For a PCM, I've read claims of 10 to as much as 30 (doubt it). I assume that is whp too. But since yours is tuned it depends a lot on how good your tuner is. Someone who doesn't know what they are doing could cost you hp instead of making more power!

Drop in filter, like 1 or 2 I'd guess.

Also keep in mind with your base line 240, that is on a fresh engine. Don't expect a 100K + mile motor to be able to hit 240. Wear and tear is going to reduce that figure to some extent.

If I had to throw out a number, I'd say 275, contingent on tune and wear.

I have seen motors with over 100k that put out the same power as they did at 1000 miles, todays engines don't wear that bad really (100k is considered low mileage by most salvage yards on most cars that don't have a mitsubishi emblem)

LOL@ Mitsu. Such unreliable piles. Except for the Evo, which of course is wicked fast and for once decently engineered...

^^^^Maybe...it'd be close.

As for the EVO, yeah it's nice, but the interior sucks balls. Not really what you'd expect for a $35k car. Yes it does go like a bat outta hell, but it needs to be tuned and some aftermarket shit in order to run right. I have 2 coworkers with EvoIX's, one is modded on is only appearance modded. They just cost waaaayyy too much. About $45K to get them right.

100K miles isn't the end of the world for a lot of motors like a 3800, but you can't escape physics here. Every piston stroke will wear the rings and cylinder walls, and there will be more blow by and lost power as a result. If you have some dyno numbers to show that I'd love to see it, but until then I remain skeptical. Perhaps the wear will only amount to 10 hp lost which will barely be noticeable, but there will be some loss.

I expect there's some loss. My car's not perfect by any means. If it were, it would be MUCH faster and WAAAY more reliable. And RWD.

:hello2: Hey! What about me? What would I theoretically be running at the crank with my setup? 3.4 pulley, 1.9 rockers, ported TB, CAI, DHP-PCM, headers, u-bend delete, resonator replaced with glass pack, 180* t-stat, 104 plugs, fuel pump rewire.
