So my buddy has his 98 gtp bored out, VS cam, PLOG, dp, aftermarket pcm, 3.25 pulley, slight exhaust work. So i did a scan on it and he was telling me once in awhile doing WOT from 0-100 the car will suddenly cut out and and the radio will turn off and turn back on.(like the car looses voltage) So here is the scan from it as of yesterday and it acted up on me as well when the power got cut to it suddenly but regained right back like it hits the gov. soon and jerks the car. Whats he looking at? loose connection, pcm, i dont know where to start. the car drives fine if you dont go WOT.
WE have had issues with this car since day one in December.

heres the scan LOOK at that KR!! with a 3.25

That sounds like a poor connection somewhere.

Recently done engine work would lead me to believe that there is a bad ground somewhere in the engine bay.

Either right off the batter where it grounds to the body, or off the transmission bolt stud would be the two places I would check first.

There is also several inside the vehicle as well to check.

You might also have the condition of the batter checked and the alternator output as well.

Could also be fuel pump related, such as its weak or starved, or shorting out possibly.

I have personally seen some weird things happen from one thins loose, or shorting out that effects totally non related parts or equipment on my own car. I have spent months tracking down problems and get so pissed that I would rather set my car on fire and start over with another one...but then I take a break for a few days...and clear my mind and find the problem.

Yup, definitely needs to pull the pulley off. He'd probably be golden with a 3.4/3.5.

Seriously...seriously...SERIOUSLY LEAN...

Add fuel in all ranges. Your O2's are nearing 800. IPW's for a 3.25 pulley should be nearing static (20 or so) to keep KR down. You can expect only a few WOT runs with that kind of fuelling...and are so lucky to still have it running now after that much steady KR.

The bucking and cutting out is the car SCREAMING for more fuel before it blows up.

first thing you do take the pully off and been your friend with it and call him an idiot the car would be faster with a 3.4-3.5

also chrck the grounds on the side of the tranny right behind the strater the tend to back them selves off and it also seem s like things where removed they might not of been put on right

for it to shut off the radio and everything, you are likely looking at an ignition switch as well.

Because you have more than one module acting up, it is almost certainly a ground or power issue. Check voltage drop on all system ground and supply wires, starting with the PCM. I highly doubt there is anything else wrong, aside from to small of a pulley.

Certainly check those and the battery as well.

OMG...I had to peek at that scan again. I pray for the sake of your buddy's car that it just stops running with this ground short to save it.

KR is not short for boost. You may want to tell him that...
