Thought I'd post up a general thread for the build of our 1997 Grand Prix. You can see pics at the following link but today we tackled the headliner. The headliner had begun sagging and I don't like the interior color anyway so we swapped the fabric to black and covered the map pocket with black vinyl. Not sure I'm happy with how the map pocket turned out but that's easy enough to redo. THe other interior pieces still need to be swapped out, hopefully in the near future.

We will post up threads on each step of our build.

Tomorrow headers are supposed to be in!

I think they're pacesetter knockoff's. Got them off x3racing on ebay. They seem ok so far. The interior will be all black pretty much once it's done. Have lots more plans that will unfold in this thread.

Sorry it's a SE with a top swap.

The new interior will be much better than the ugly tan. That's what's in my car and I dislike it.

What other plans do you have after the top swap?

I agree I can't stand the tan interior. The top swap has already been completed. I've got a whole list of plans for the car that I will post when I'm getting ready to do them. Some are following:

Install the headers
Struts and springs
HD tranny
High ratio rockers and much much more

Well today we got the crossover pipe wrapped and picked up a flange and short piece of tubing to connect to the catback. Still waiting on a high flow cat. Trying to decide wether or not to just through the headers and dp on and deal with the code until I can through in a hf cat.

put the header sin first that way when you put in the cat you will know where the DP has to be cut for it to fit

Good point. Gotta have the car reinspected in November so I should have plenty of time to get a cat in there.

Well I ordered a high flow 3 inch cat on wed and it's here already. Didn't expect it so quick! It looks like good quality and only cost me $50.

Once the header install is redone this will go in too.
