I just recieved in my front sway bar for my 02 GPGT from GMPP due to my factory one b \eing broken. Plan on doing it this weekend from what I have read I need to remove wheels, unbolt sway bar and feed it through. Is this all that is needed to be done and I know it sounds easier then said then done 9 years of Midwest winters and crap I am sure getting unbolted and out will be no short task but nontheless it needs to be done. What about putting the new one in? I know its bigger what all is needed for the GMPP to go in? I just want to make sure I have suffiecent time to get it done because my time will be limited this weekend. Thanks.

I found easier when I removed a rotor from one side.

I do remember I installed stock sway bar on my daily driving car without removed like rotor or tie rod few years ago. I did put 2 jack stands on top of car with both front wheels off. If I couldn't slide in. I start the car and turn the steering wheel to allow me have more room where tie rod is moving. It was working for me. It wasn't fun. For rusty part. You might need metal saw to cut stock sway bar bolt off to loose broken sway bar if it is really rust that bad.

I did mine years ago by just removing the stock one and nothing else.

Glad you got it on. The GMPP handling kit is a nice upgrade.

Try teflon taping the sway bar, like so:

And lube up the sway bar bushings: Super Lube :ky:

X2 on lubing the bushings. That will help with squeeking.

I looked under the car a little yesterday and it appears its broken again. Im getting the same noise before I replaced it and it appears cracked already. I will take a closer look this weekend but im not happy right now. If it is broken im gonna deal for awhile but my next replacement will be a dorman or one thats solid f this hollow crap.

If it is broken, contact the vendor you purchased it from. I have only seen on thread where a GMPP was broken.

Just curious where your sway bar was broken. My OEM one split at the end where the portion was pressed together to form the flattened/formed hole for the sway bar link. I removed the bar and used a hacksaw blade to clean out the "v" where the sway bar end split. Lots of rust in there. then I put the end in a vise, squeezed it best I could and welded it shut. A little angle grinder work and then back in the car.

I just can't believe a NEW sway bar broke. (Unless you're off-roading your GP)

Yeah, I can't believe the new one broke either. Take a picture of that and post it. I would like to see it.
