Is that come sending unit with fuel pump? I'm thinking grab one from my junk yard. It has 2001 and same color as mine. lol Also it is full of gas so I knew it will working. My fuel gauge is little bit off when I fill it up. It has been like that since I brought that car.

The sending unit is attached to the outside of the fuel pump module: Fuel pump install '97-'03 Try swapping the sender first, and see what the gauge does.

Yeah it's a easy swap to change out the sending unit once the fuel pump is out. I've been getting my 97 GT ready for winter and just swapped out it's sending unit with one off a 99 pump that had failed.

Just out of curiosity, do the GPs have an access panel in the trunk to get to the fuel pump like my Monte Carlo does? I never had to mess with the pump or sender in my GTP in the short time I had it before it got killed.

Thanks blackarrow98gp.

I find this one at junk yard last weekend. They have to pull it out to suck the gas out of gas tank. Not sure about sending unit with fuel pump. Maybe they broke it to pull it out I guess.

That's how my fuel gauge look like when I fill it up. Not worth it? I mean it is very tiny off

Not enough to make a difference IMO. Any factory gauge is not going to be exact IMO. I think that's more of an issue with the gauge itself than it is with the sending unit. I'd put money down that your speedo says your 1-3mph faster than you really are too.

My speedo needle is fine. It show same mph as my gps device. Not that big deal. Maybe one of day it is finally "broke" or too way off in future.

Pat, I can make the fuel gauges on both of my cars do that..it's nothing to worry about. If your gauge read 1/4 full and you ran out of gas, then I'd see about fixing it.

I'm surprised it actually reads dead on. Most don't from the factory. Most read anywhere from 1-3mph fast.
