Hey guys , i have a 2000 grand prix gt and i put a 97 gtp engine into it. I had to swap out the harness as the 1997 isent interchangable with the other years. Everything works in the car except for the fuel gauge. it goes pass fulll when the key is turned on. it doesent make sence.. i switch the sending units and they send out corect signal up to the passenger kick panel where the two harneses conect togethor , further on the dash i do not know where to test. it is very confusing . i checked all fuses , under hood and all. grounds in dash are good. any one have ideas on this one? would be nice to get advice because im rdy to bring it to the shop tomarrow but i would like to save my $$. thanks

There was no need for the wire harness with the motor. The sensors are all the same just a couple of vacume lines are different. Not sure how that 97 pcm is gonna wanna work with that. Not sure on where to start looking on that.

yea i had to change the harneses out because the master cylinder plug was far away to being the same so they had to be swaped and there was a few more things. yea rite now my mind is like set on bringing the car in to get that fuel gauge working.

found problem. wasz because the rear wiring harnesses of the cars warent the same , addded a few wires and it worked.

But your 97 being a gtp does not have the same issues that a 97 gt has

The cluster is different.. It doesnt work and the low fuel light is on? Get a 2000 cluster need you will be fine.

All the plugs are the same so its just a swap..
