Ok so for about the past 2 weeks my car has started making a sqeek sound when I go over bumps. It used to do it lightly when I went over big bumps but its starting to get more constant and louder. The car drives fine but this noise is really starting to aggravate me. Im sure someone has come across this issue before so please help me out.

*its not a deep squeek its higher pitched almost like metal on metal
*it does it during regular driving if i hit a big enough bump slow or fast doesnt matter

Jack it up and check the sway bar. They are known to break. Also check the sway bar endlinks.

You can either get a Dorman or a GMPP replacement. They are both the same size at 33mm. The dorman is solid versus the GMPP which is hollow.

Just jacked my car up and my sway bar is broken on both ends. FML how I broke both ends I have no idea but the roads on the way to my job are no good so it does not surprise me at all.
Is it hard to replace the sway bar yourself or should I have my mechanic do it?

These bars brake all the time .... It's a design flaw, bend and crush a hollow tube with no edge radius and you'll get stress cracks.

Buy this ..... http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cf ... pk12456148 you'll love the improvement.

It is not hard to install the sway bars. It can be done in a couple of hours. I am not sure how long gmparts direct takes to ship these out but summit sells them as well. If you are looking for just a replacement, then dorman makes a bigger front bar. It is 33mm and is solid. The GMPP is 34mm and is hollow. The dorman is available at rockauto.
