$1.5k isn't bad, I'd offer him a grand in cash to be honest. I'd be curious as to why it stopped running though. Anticipate potential motor costs + new transmission just to be safe. No clue how hard it has been driven.

X2 with what Kendra said. Offer 1k cash. Factor in a replacement engine and or tranny because you never know. U could still part it out and easily get your 1k back if all fails.

dpepnding on rust i would offer any where form $1,300 to scrap value

eather way for a $1,000 you will not loose any thing if you part and scrap it out
