My 99 coupe gt has a new egr valve that I installed myself. Bought it from 1aauto.com about 3 weeks ago and this is the very first item I have ever bought from them. My SES light came on while on my way 2 work and I took it 2 autozone for a scan when my lunch break came. Code was a P1404: faulty egr. When I bought this egr from 1aauto they only had the one egr so I don't know if it was name brand or not. The thing cost $125.

My question is has anyone bought an egr or any sensor type device from 1aauto before and had it fail some 3 weeks later weather you installed it or not? Also if I send out this faulty one and 1aauto sends me a new one and THAT one fails, is it possible that there could potentially be something else wrong that can cause the egr to fail? Thanks.

Wiring/connection issue most likely.
