checked the fuses and even replaced the dic fuse and still nothing. changed the light bulbs still doesnt work. the tcs light and low track light comes on and the button works but the screen doesnt work so is it a more internal issue?

Did you make sure that the DIC is plugged in? I know that I had that problem when pulling off the dash garnish around the DIC/Radio/HVAC controls. It could also be a possibility that your DIC just died, and you'd need to get a new one - or at least a used one then get a GM Tech2 Scan Tool to reflash the original mileage.

Yep could just need a replacement. Tech 2 not required on 97 - 03 tho.

The Tech 2 is a diagnostic scanner used by GM dealers. As for your problem, it might be a wiring issue or a broken DIC.

what he said. the tech 2 is what the dealer (and sometimes other mechanics) uses to "scan" the car.

the reason it was mentioned, is the newer gp's the odometer mileage is held in the dic, and if you swap the dic, then you have to use a tech 2 to change it. (so that it reads the right mileage.

your 00" wont need this if you change the dic.

After all you have tried I would say that would be a good next step, unless you have a buddy with a gtp that would let you try his to be sure first.

The circuit board inside probably has a burnt spot on it, mine did on my old car and I had to replace it.
