I've already busted out the majority of the red lens area, but I can't get the red out from around the reverse light area. I don't have a soldering iron or anything to melt into the clear lens and break it so I've been trying to pry it out...not working.
I'm thinking I'll go ahead and bake them and pull them apart since there are areas that need to be resealed anyway.
What temperature would I bake them at, 200?

Also, do 3157 bulbs fit the same as 3057?

idk if you can bake them or now

but i drilled down into the clear enough to get a screw driver to use as a lever and push it towards the big hole i cut out of it

i cant answer that question

but have fun sealing them w/ showing the lines

I've tried to push it into the bigger hole, not working so well. The red plastic around the clear stuff is keeping it lodged in there...i'll try getting better leverage though.

I'll try that. I'll need to get a 45 deg. pliers though.

Im glad I got mine already cleared out. I gotta buy a set of LED's for mine. Be careful, I dont know how big a dick cops are in WI, but here in NY, they love to give stupid tickets out. I got a ticket for having mine cleared out.

Yup, 200 degrees and let them sit there for like 10 min.s and check if they are hot to the touch when you take them out then quickly work on taking them apart.

I'm worried about that foam rubber on it. I'd take it off but the one section screwed on it, the screws are rusty and the heads will strip, like one already did. Will that uphold to 200*?

thats why i think everyone cuts their tails because of the plastic ridges, i.e. the lines you see are actually molded into the whole assembly

Yes. All 3x57 bulbs have the same base.

Cool, got them. I've decided that I'm going to cut out a part of the bigger part of the housing so I can remove the clear lens, I'll then use epoxy to put it back together. Do they make silver reflective spray, or something to rejuvenate the silver part of the taillights?

I'd rather not cut that much off, I was planning on cutting out just a section, think that'd work?
