I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. base 3800.
I have 83k miles. The last 2 days I have had the
brake warning light stay on in the dash. It stays on
for about 15 minutes than goes off. Why is this
brake warning light staying on??? I had both front
and rear brake pads replaced in the spring and the
brakes feel fine and the emergency brake isnt on.
The brake fluid looks fine.
So what do you think the problem is that this brake
warning light stays on???

What warning light? The ABS light, parking brake light, both? And is the Traction control light on as well? Usually if all 3 of those lights are on it's either A) low brake fluid level or B) wheel speed sensor issue.

That light comes on when the parking brake has been engaged but it is also a warning light for any brake issues not related to the ABS system as it has it's own light. If you ever blow a brake line that same light that comes on when you engage the parking brake will come on.

I topped off the brake fluid. I hope that does
the trick. Everything else seems to be working fine.

Thanks guys
