I have a ticking sound that is very loud from the passenger side. If you get down by my tire you can hear it better. Any ideas that it could be?

it could be a worn drive belt or a valve lifter ticking. I have a lifter tick when the motor is cold and gm says its normal.

It doesn't seem like anything serious. But you should inspect the belt and if it's cracked badly replace it.

It's a long shot, but it might be worth dropping the starter out for inspection: 97-03-grand-prix-discussion-f13/starter-question-t25312.html
