just was wondering if i need to replace the gasket when changing the thermostat and is that something that parts store will sell( i mean just the gasket) thanks...

yea you should change it. its cheap and it should be carried at part stores.

is the thermostat located in the front of the motor on the right side behind the valve cover, i ask cause it looks like a pain to get out with all of the wires right there...

Yeah, it's on the LIM. Just follow the upper radiator hose, and that's where it's at. Based on your description, I think you've got it, though. It's an easy change, really. Ten minutes at most.

just make sure you bleed the system of air after you do it. and absolutely dont do it when its hot cuz there will be some coolant comin out

yeah replace the gasket.. it's 99 cents.... and HRO is right.. takes 10 min tops..
