I bought my 04 with a lot of miles. All highway, runs like it's brand new, but still.....I was wondering about just swapping a new, or newer 3.8 Series III in there. BUT....does the DIC electrical and computer stuff come with the new motors?
As in, if I swap it out with say a motor with 10k miles on it, will my DIC read that or no?
Just trying to figure out what to do in the near future, because I most likely will not be selling this car! lol
Thanksmuch

The better bet would be to either get a turbo kit, or top swap your current engine.

joe - i think he means because of high miles, not for more power..

but either way, these motors run forever man!

i figured they do. As long as you treat them right... In all my cars i had 3.8's. Olds 3.8, 97 GP 3.8 Series II, now my 04 GP 3.8 Series III, all ran beautifully
