well this morning I had zero problems on the way home to work but on the way home I stopped to get gas and about 10 minutes after that it sputtered and stalled, after that it did its usual thing and then was fine. I actually wish the SES light would come on so I can have an idea of what is going on

OK finally got a code got a P0102 MAF sensor circuit low .... however the MAF Sensor that is in the car is actually new looking or at least a definite replacement as it is a re-manufactured unit. Should I go ahead and get another MAF sensor and put it in or is there other things I should check first?

Check the wiring first, but you'll likely replace it. These MAF's aren't exactly the most reliable things, and to reman junk...you'll get junk.

OK well today I ran a live data stream off my scanner concentrating on the MAF input and got some interesting results.... most of the time when the car started to choke and hesitate the lbs / min reading went up most of the time some times up to 40lbs /min but some times dropped to the .1 region ..... so it could very well be the MAF sensor .... however I can't get the fact that it was recently replaced out of my head... I wish I knew the reason why it was changed... was it to address the same problem and was not the cause i.e. Bad wire or connector... .was it for another problem and went defective....

Well I'll go more into detail, I'm actually a mechanic of about 12 years, so now...I just bought this car which came with a unlimited mileage / 3 month warranty, so thus for it not to cost any money I had to take it into a licensed shop, so the warranty would be honored, now I took it to 2 different shop and neither really could figure out what was going on, so I got annoyed about and yesterday I ran the live data on my Scanner, which showed the information i presented yesterday. so it had to be something with the MAF sensor or MAF circuit....but I wasn't sure which.... now, this moring at break at work I decided to do a few more tests on the MAF sensor to try to figure out what was going bad.... so I pulled the tap test on the MAF and as soon as i lightly tapped on the MAF sensor the engine started to sputter ..... so the next step i pulled the connector of fthe MAF sensor ran the engine and did the same test (checking for another possible sensor causing the issue) and nothing, so the next step was to move the connector around a bit and still nothing... so with that data I ordered a new MAF sensor from Napa.....removed the old one and put the new one in and took it for a test drive .... Perfect not a sputter or anything ... so with that I am happy to say the MAF was the problem all the time for once ... and there's repair shops that aren't worth a damn... oh and Pep Boys can suck it .. they were over priced for the MAF sensor which they only carry Remans.... as well as for them to read the SES light on the car they want to charge me $90 ..... which is ridiculous anyway just happy to say shes running great finally.

Also thank you to everyone that helped!
