Stock is 2.25". 2.5 is a very common size when upgrading exhaust. I currently run 2.5 inch pipe.

If you get a MF catback it will replace the factory pipes and resonator.

I doubt it will. If you were doing headers full exhaust than some really good mufflers and you keep your cat than maybe. But I would leave the res in there. You should still get a nice deep tone nothing loud or raspy with the res and magnaflow catback. Like don said a full cat should come with everything you need including a res

You can always go with the GMPP cat back. Its made by magnaflow.

It sounds pretty good. I know there are some sound clips online somewhere. It has a nice low rumble at idle and sounds decent of the 3.8. Its been compared to the Borla cat back. The catback is for 97-03. Not sure what year your car is. You should search because I think it also fits the 04+. You can get it from monsterpartsonline (now shopgmparts) for about $500. The part number is 12498617.

This is what it looks like.

That's a nice system and the price is affordable.

If you get the SE rear bumper then the single tips will fit and look great.
