To all:

Owner of 2004 GT2, owners manual says spark plugs should be changed at 100,000 miles...
My current 04 GT2 has 57K miles...I've already had the Trans fluid and coolent changed @ 50,000K
I'm thinging of doing the spark plugs....and I can't believe GM says 100K for plugs..
Here are my question:

(1) What spark plugs do you recommend ?
(2) How hard is to change the 3 back spark Plugs ?
(3) How do you get at the 3 back plugs against the firewall ?
(4) What do you guys think of the BOSCH gapless plugs..saw them at Walmarts
for $8.32 per pkg of 2....

Autolite 605s

Undo the front motor mounts and ratchet the engine forward with a come Along or a ratcheting tie Down strap.

And the back 3 aren't too bad, Just a pita in the moment

Just use the stock plugs. They will last longer than Autolites and perform better in your stock car.

The first time you remove the wires spark plugs can be a PITA. However, if you have aftermarket plugs or you change them frequently it becomes a very easy job. I can have mine in 20-30 minutes tops and have time for a small break in there too. That would be without rushing too.

I just had a friend of mine do a tune up on my car (117k miles). He said the plugs and wires were original, and weren't too bad. With that being said, I would go with GM parts like I did. Although, I'm a firm believer in OE parts also.

If you remove the rear engine bracket it makes changing the rear bank plugs a lot easier. I removed it and now I don't even have to rock the engine forward at all to get to them, but then again I do have small hands
As for plugs and wires, OEM if your stock and don't feel like changing plugs every 10,000 miles.

I get up and kneel on the diagonal brace and dogbone to get the back, and not to thread jack, but what do you guys think of the bosch 4 prong plugs?

Platinum plugs do not last well in our waste spark ignition system. They get eaten alive and are lucky if they survive a month before you have issues.

Iridiums are what our cars shipped with and they'll do well with them, but the fine tip of the iridium heats up and can cause predetonation which comes through as KR and a loss of power. This is usually when you are on it hard. However they do last a long time.

Copper plugs: Pick whatever brand you like, in my opnion. A copper plug disipates the heat better and throws a fantastic spark in comparison to the other types. While it's a bit old school and you'll want to replace them every 50K miles or less, they will hande treat you the best overall.

Electricity only needs one ground not 4... Path of least resistance is what the spark likes it won't "distribute the spark" between the four electrodes it only goes to one. IMO useless just get iridium tipped if your wanting a long lasting spark plug if your goin performance use copper
