i broke a vavle spring earlier this year but was fortunate not to have the valve drop into the motor. so i switched to crower springs and haven't had an issue since.

This seems to be a common theme I'm hearing.
Comp' springs seem to suck [they've had cam problems in the past as well].
Most guys I know with this problem go Crower or K-Motion.
I've been hearing about too many Comp' problems in all kinds of car applications [not just Buick].
Not good.

Isn't it Comp Cams that makes most of our cams?

Eeyup.
My bud's Mustang had problems with his Comp springs about 4-5 years ago.
He went K Motion and the problem was solved.
Look up "econo roller" on Google.
That may surprise you coming from such a "reputable" company.
