im currently doing a ER split ratio rocker and spring install i bought the rockers off some one i just need to know which is the exhaust side and which is the intake side with the valve cover off.

Look at the exhuast manifold. The spring just over the exhuast exit are the ones for exhuast...the others are for the intake. If you are right in front of the motor...each cylinder has it's own 2 springs and rockers... One on the left intake right exhuast like Rodman said

ok thanks i finished the fronts. got evertything off in the back but have to call it quits till morning ran out of day light and also lost about 4 valve locks the rears are suck a pain in the rear to seat the locks.

Remember to install the rockers by the firing order.. 1,6,5,4,3,2,1

Rear: 2. 4. 6
Front: 1. 3. 5.

You also need to torque them all down when they are at top dead center.

yeah just finished them and i am getting lots of knock just turned it off need to take off covers and check for lash and TDC torquing

I never TDC torqued, and never had a problem. There is no lash, either. Make sure you put the rockers on the proper valve.

i most definitely made sure that the pedistals and the rockers where on the right valves they were marked on the side of each as intake and exhaust. im not sure now why im having this problem since your saying that there is no need for tdc torque and valve lash.

Double check the torquing on them. Use the write up I posted as a guide. Here is a link to the torque specs as well.
