I started to tear my engine down today. Then as I was trying to remove the TB I saw that there was a bolt on the bottom under a bracket, but I cant get to it without removing the exhaust manifolds.. Does that have to be done to get the UIM off or am I not doing somthing right? I looked in the service manual and it doesnt show anything about the exhaust manifolds having to be removed...

iirc....that bracket is only on the 97-99 L36's......somebody correct me if im wrong on that. I kinda remember something saying that when i had the directions to install my TB spacer & heat shield on my GTP a few years ago........god only knows if i still have that paper laying around......but i think there has to be a way to get that bracket off w/o removing the manifolds..... if im even thinking of what yer talking about.

Is there any way you can snap some pics of it in there so we can see?

You can move the bracket out of the way with a little force. I did that on mine when I did the LIM and UIM. Once you move it out of the way you can use an extension with a socket on it to get the bolt off. When I put everything back on I did not reinstall that little bracket.
