never herd of liquid rushing....ps usually wines real bad if it's going out, the water rushing may be a big leak if your hearing it, have you noticed any puddles underneath the car at all? any lights on the dash or liquids in the rim? (the inside of the rim, like as if it were falling into the rim)

Did you check the ps fluid level and add any if it was low?

$50 for new pump.
$10 for fluid.
$30 core charge.

If it keeps bothering you, just get a new one.

check the fluid. Mine was whining so bad I thought that my kids must have got
under the hood somehow. But it was just low. Fine now.

-blackspike, those are US prices? .. for now I'll leave it... just gonna try to do a flush sometime next year..

I've noticed that that the steering feels heavy on the GP, compared to sub compact cars..

Yeah those are US prices, never had to deal with that exchange rate stuff living in Arkansas. I do have a Canadian dime you can have though. Lol

If you think the steering feels heavy you might want to try the Royal Purple PS fluid. Back when I was still leaking back at Wyotech I would burn through a bottle of that a month, but that was the easiest I've ever turned a steering wheel.

The base model GP doesn't have variable steering, so they set it up to be firm to give the driver better road feel at cruising speed. But consequently it's also firm at parking lot speeds so it's harder to turn the wheel.

Its good to know that they made the PS firm... didn't know that :D
