To a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT; door locks are hanging up on drivers side. The key doesn't turn well enough to lock and unlock the door. Sometimes the inside handle won't let you out. I bought a Dorman actuator switch and attempted to install this morning; gave up! I'm going to try and buy a new outer door handle and it looks like a new lock tumbler comes with it? Not sure, but hope it does.
Problem is, there is the window track that is smack against the actuator-latch unit! If the lower attaching screw holding the track in place is removed, can the track be taken out to work on the actuator? The top of the track seems to have a tab that is inserted into the upper part of the door frame that holds the track in place.
Also, looks like if you remove the rivet holding the inner door handle in place, you can then slide the handle, linkage and actuator out to work on. That can be put back together with another large rivet.
The drivers side door lock tumbler activates all four doors. Seems complicated?
Has anyone had this trouble with their door lock?

Tony, it's my daughters car and I don't have access but a few times a week. Getting a pic of the track in question would be hard to take, as it is covered up by the sheet metal of the door. This window track is inside the door and up against the door latch-actuator. Do you know if this track can be removed so I can get to the latch-actuator?
