P0420 (it's a zero not an o before the 4) is Cat efficiency below threshold meaning either your cat is bad or the downstream (post cat) o2 sensor is on it's way out. If you do a search ^^^ up there for just "P0420" you'll find a ton of threads on that code.

Most people get that code when they do headers or downpipes due to no cat or a high flow one, so most people just get the code set to no report in the PCM so the SES light doesn't come on.

I was wondering if it was the. O2 sensor cus on my scanner it seems really lazy. Normall when it trips the code engine temp is 190 to 200 and the cat temp is around 1027 or so. Thanks for the help sir. New to the forum but seems like a bunch of well rounded people.

Post catalyst O2 is supposed to be 'lazy'. The O2 should be capable of fast changes but the O2 content leaving the catalyst should be relatively stable when the Cat is warmed up and working. The post cat O2 sensor performance is good if the voltage swings high during WOT and quickly drops low druing DFCO. P0420 sets when the post cat O2 sensor is too active because the catalyst is not doing its job.

Clear Skies!
