It says you're from Canada, is this 5k miles or kilometers? My 04 would typically go down 1 or 2 notches in between oil changes of ~4k miles. The drop in oil has been consistent since I purchased at 26k miles until the last couple oil changes at over 120k miles.

Internal combustion engines burn oil by design. You're just fine. If somebodys' car burns NO oil...that's bad.

My engine must be going bad.
Since I put the Amsoil microfiber air filter in the car,it hasn't used a drop of oil in almost two months.
My slightly noisy lifter [on startup] has shut up too.
Go figure.
Normally by now I would have added at least half a quart of oil.

So you're saying your air filter has fixed your oil problem? That's probably the most obnoxious thing I've read in a day or two.

I was waiting for someone to pipe up.
I'm curious: Why would that be obnoxious?
It does appear to have helped out.
If you think about it,it does make sense.
