Whats up guys! I just got a 2004 Grand Prix Gt. Ive been doing a little research here and there to figure out what I could do to increase performance. So far, the mods that seem the least strenuous and pocket friendly are HV3, 180 TStat, ER Ratio Rocker Arms, some sort of CAI(havent quite decided to purchase or make one), possibly a 2.5" DP and an overkill PCM since they can include the mods in the tune. Can anyone chime in on this setup and recommend anything I may have overlooked that may coincide with these mods or add to it? Also, I was thinking about headers but like I said im new to modding and need some input.

Thanks in advance!

First welcome to the world of Pontiac and Grand Prixs. Your list looks solid an should increase the power a bit. Bave you considered doing headers as well?

Headers will wake it up on the top end, along with the rockers and HV3. That is a good list of mods, and with a solid street or dyno tune should be very beneficial. You'll probably lose some low end power, but with these engines, that's OK, really.

Thanks for the welcome and the responses. Yea, Ive considered headers. I just really started about them last nite when I got in from work, but after looking at cards in the casino I couldnt really process and retain any of it. I wouldnt mind adding headers to that list. Any specific ones you guys recommend?

You can get speed daddy headers on eBay for like $200 plus some change shipped. Wbody store also just released a new set of headers. They are about $600, but bolt in with no issues.

From my understanding Speed Daddy headers sometimes will require some persuasion.

I wouldnt mind the ones on WBody store. I just read it comes with a bolt in DP, would that eliminate the need for the 2.5"DP from ZZP or can it just be changed out and would it make a difference?

Thanks

Yes it would eliminate the need for your current DP since it comes with it's own specific one. Same goes for other brand headers including SD as well. They will all replace your current DP.

Cool...I guess I'll get everything ordered up and wait for the weather to break a little bit and for me to get a cpl days off in a row to get everything done.

Headers, intake, HV3,, rockers or cam, plugs, 180* thermo and a tune is about as good as you're going to get with a n/a car without a power adder.

Yea, I think I'll be good with those mods. I just wanted to give a little more power and little better performance that what it has stock. Between those mods and moving my subs and amps from my 99GT I'll be content....for the time being lol. Hopefully I dont get used to it quick and wanna do something else to it.

A little bit, but nothing you can really do with an N/A platform other then turbo or top swap to get power. You'll want more, and you'll eventually have to top swap/turbo. No real way around that.
