What have you guys found to be the best intake for the 3800 Series III

I have a 2006 base Grand Prix, needs a new air filter, so might as well upgrade now :)

I personally don't think there is much of a difference performance wise between the different brands. I have a K&N in mine. Just look at how much you want to spend and go with one that will look good under your hood.Just my opinion.

for a N/A gp the drop in K&N air filter in your stock air box will be fine, if I were to do things over again thats all I would use

I have a K&N drop in on mine. Seems to work pretty well. Its a little louder sucking air then a paper filter not much but noticeable at WOT.

I have a drop in in the Impala, works pretty well. Kinda noticeable at wot. I have a wizair in the GTP, which looks great, sounds great, and performs great, but I can't really vouch for how well it works on n/a cars.

I had the Wizaired on my GT. It looked and sounded great, but I can't say I noticed a difference in performance. My butt-dyno may be out of cal, though.

IMO, I'd avoid fender well intakes. I just recently saw someone (GTI, not GP) drive through a puddle (not flooding, just a deep puddle) after about 1/2 - 1 hour of rain and suck a lot of water into his engine.

usually I prefer a sealed CAI like the wizair and if your decently handy you can make a good one from Lexan or some aluminum pretty quick. I think I did a whole box and filter for one of my past cars for around 90 bucks, probably cheaper when you consider that I probably only used half the sheet of Lexan.

Mine sits right behind my headlight, in the fender...
I think it's just as high as it was when it was in the stock air-box...
I think you are all just, "doing it wrong"... lol

Same here. Sucks with puddles, but also why I always have a screwdriver handy ;)

wiz air i just dont like the bellow i went through three of them already. and the k&N filter works great but u will have to clean your maf sensor often because of the oil that is on the filter. try and find a good dry filter.

Personally, with all the aftermarket intakes. You're really just paying for the name. All have the same or about the same effect. I made mine with $70.. The K&N filter being the most expensive piece. If you're looking to save a buck than it's definately the route to go

Unless your heavily modded...I run a open cone. When your making a lot more power than stock you can talk about ambient temps all day and I'll still keep my open cone because intake placement doesn't make a shits lick of difference.

I actually wasn't refering to temps. I was under the impression that he was going to just unplug the IAT sensor and just run the cone right on the TB.
